In a class discussion we talked about our top 5 favorite films. I picked Granddaddy day care, Scary movie, The trap, A haunted house 2, and Night school. All these movies are found on Netflix. So today I’ll talk about the opening scene on my top three favorite films. Granddaddy day care Granddaddy day care is a comedy movie found on Netflix. It’s about a guy who wants to be a novelist but also has problems with money. His father in law needs a place to stay and him and his wife decide to let him stay as long as he needs. Needing to pay bills and find a quick way to make money he decides to start something like a day care for seniors at his house to make money off of that. Granddaddy day care opening scene showed the book that the man was thinking about and how he was having trouble trying to write it. This helped me see that him trying his best to make a perfect book meant that writing the book was important for his future and the movie will show later on why it was important to him

In class, we learned about different film openings. For example there is Flashbacks, Flash forward, Dreams, etc. The opening scene in a film is the most important part because it has to hook your audience to watch your film. The opening scene also gives some information about what the audience might see during the film. This keeps them curious and wanting to know more about the film. What is an opening scene? Cinematography In class we learned about cinematography. From just looking at the word I thought it was going to be hard. It wasn't that hard to understand but it was kind of easy to understand. Cinematography is the art and technology of motion picture photography. So its mostly about the cameras movement, angles, and shots and what they are used for in general . Shots There are many type of camera shots but I won't talk about all I will just give a couple basic ones. First we got a Close up shot which is where the frame has just the head or face of the character in the screen. Its mostly used to show the emotion of the characters. Next we have a Long Shot which's shows the character form top to bottom without filling the screen. This shot is used to set the scene and the characters place in that scene. The last one I will give is Full Shot which is where the camera shows the character from top to bottom filling the frame. Its used to show more action rather than showing
Introduction In class we learned about genre. Genre is just a category of a film. Examples can be horror, comedy, action, romance, etc. Genre was probably the most easiest to learn because people talk about different genres everyday not only in film but also in books and other things. My personal favorite is horror comedy because while I am get scared and throwing things I also get some laughter out of it. Some types of genres can be mixed together and balanced out. Examples Horror comedy - Literary, television, and film genre that combines comedy and horror to form horror comedy Horror comedy mixes horror with comedy to balance out the amount of laughter and the amount of thriller. Mise-en-scene In class Ive learn that mise-en-scene is to just putting the look and feel on a film. What I mean by putting the look its just means to what my audience will see such as the costume, makeup, characters, the set, etc. This makes me remember live performances because the audience gets to see the characters and their different costumes, different sets, etc. The feel of a film is just how how the film is developed and the kind of feel it give the audience. For example again a live performance its suppose to make the audience feel like they are seeing the actual film.
